Do you follow your favorite artist or writer to whatever title they go to? Do you have your favorite books that you read no matter what? If you see someone's name on the cover of a book, would you pick it up now matter what? For example, Garth Ennis Punisher fans, will you pick up Chronicles of Wordwood just because you see Garth's name on it or are you only reading Garth's stuff because he is writing for Punisher?

While a specific writer/artist/character/title might cause me to look at something, I almost never buy something just because of that.
For example, I'm a huge Grant Morrison fan, but some of his work is a little too "out there" for me. I'll check out a book if "Chamber" from Generation X is in it, but if I don't like the story (Generation M #1) I'm not going to buy it. |

I'm a real Batman fan. Detective Comics was what brought me back into the world of capes and tights world. I'll give anything with Batman a chance. The same thing goes for anything written by Brian Wood. I'm getting that way with Bendis, but Powers is still my favorite of his work which skews indie.

Id probably follow brad meltzer into other comics but it would all depend. If he created a whole new charecter i might but if its something like the hulk then no. He is the main guy with the new justice league of america and ive been loving it so far.

I love Batman but that doe not mean that I will blindly buy any Batman. Sam Keith's Batman Secrets was horrible and so was journey into knight and Gotham County Line. I will usually give writers a chance no matter what. I'll follow Christos Gage into anything and the same goes for Marc Andreyko and Brad Meltzer but bigger name dudes write too much to follow them everywhere.

I will follow my two favorite artists anywhere to new books, within reason. But with writers, no. The subject material has to appeal to me first. For example, Warren Ellis. I like his work on Fell, but I couldn't care less about most of his other books. Or Alan Moore's magick-related works. I'm the same way with my favorite author. He wrote a Native American novel and another about Mormons. Zero interest. Therefore, I didn't migrate.
