Some categories are easy to call, but this one is a photo finish horse race. I have to say that the quality and diversity of work put out week after week with no lapses puts J.G. Jones at the top of my list. Most noteable missing candidates are Jock and Simone Bianchi. If they would have been in the mix, the choice would have been as painful as a foot to the crouch by my archnemsis B.J. McGee back in 7th grade.

I wanna say James Jean, but you raise an excellent point about J. G. Jones, the man has an insane amount of variety in what he produces.

I agree James Jean is awesome, but I don't think he's a best cover artist type of guy, my vote is with J.G. Jones.

J.G. Jones, definitely. His covers and art in general is amazing, it's just a pity he didn't do the interiors of 52.

JG Jones. Every 52 cover was awesome and who else worked harder this year? The man is a machine!!!

Jones gets my nod over Jean for quantity. Jean is friggin' amazing, but Jones' consistency deserves to be recognized this year.
