The Prime Directive prequel comes out this week and I thought that this warrants discussion. What is everyone's opinion on G1 vs Motion Picture? Pina I am talking to you. Start posting.

Holy crapola, i saw the trailor online the other day and i was very very the opposite of pleased. It looks like they're going to be making the Transformers look more like rounded mechs as apposed to the big, blocky, colorful robos that will rock you with laser pistols that we have come to know and love.

Every time I see the character designs for this, I cringe. I don't need them to look exactly like any of the versions that have appeared over the years, but can we get them to look like something other than generic late-90s movie robots?

Corwin doesn't like signatures. But Corwin does love to dance.

How does the kid who finds Bumblebee not realise he bought a robot when he pops the hood and there's a face underneath?

At least they are ROBOTS IN DISGUISE. I mean I can't easily see their Alt modes. It's not like in the Cartoon where it's like "Hello giant Robot that is obviously a semi truck"

So im pretty sure that the Autobot who got his vocals crushed in the prequel must be Bumblebee, that would fit with the fact that when spike is repairing the VW it doesnt talk to him. what do you guys think?

The movie could be cool, even though it's Michael Bay, what a turd, I was never a big transformers fan, but I'll read the comic, because I want to see the movie!

I'll see the movie, and with Peter Cullen as Prime I'll probably dig it.

I don't like the designs, but not because they're not like the cartoon. I'm fine with them being different. I'm not fine with them being STUPID. They all ignore the first rule of design. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple, Stupid. This is evident in the toys that are going to be released, the robot mode looks vastly different from the robot mode in the film because the toys actually have to physically transform. Looking at pictures of Optimus' robot mode and vehicle mode it's incredibly apparent that he gains mass when he transforms. There's no way his body could collapse into that truck. (And please don't call me on soundwave or megatron getting smaller when they transform, because that's obviously not how the logic of the movie is going to work).;

Stan Bush's new CD comes out the day before Transformers and it has the song he submitted for the soundtrack that was rejected. I'm gonna buy it, and then play it real loud in the theater the next day.

Have you heard the song yet, was there a good reason for it being rejected?

The song is on his myspace now, and while I think it got rejected because the studio just wanted a CD to push their bands with, I personally don't like it, because it's a new recording of the song he did for the Botcon "Till All Are One" CD, "Ground Zero." He just changed the words "Ground Zero" to "Transformers" and "Till All Are One" and slightly updated the music.

Kinda lame if you ask me.
