It got overshadowed by Civil War and soon by War World Hulk, but is it still worth reading and why?

Yes, dammit, I do!

1) It's very 80's cosmic Marvel
2) It's a war comic disguised as a space comic
3) It's excellently written
4) It's got great art
5) It finishes its story
6) Galactus gets pissed and kicks ass.

I could go on... but it's best just to read it yourself.

Plus: SpaceKnights! Awesome.

It is completely worth reading. It was well written and on time therefore one hundred times better than civil war.

Annihilation blew Civil War outta the water as far as story and writing was concerned. It juts lacked in sales because not a lot of people know about the Marvel space characters. They killed off a character who was way cooler than Cap could ever be too.

I am not a big fan of space guys but I found the writing to be good and there were not a bazillion crossovers. The miniseries that came out were good but not so important that you had to buy them to understand the base series. If you don;t like Super Skrull then don't read his series. It doesn't reall effect you understanding of the big picture. They did make a bunch of old characters a lot cooler. Man oh man was Ronan cool. he was like space dirty harry.
I think it started out only as a way to tie up the cosmic guys but it evolved due to good writers like Dan Abnett into something that surpassed Civil War. Nova and Starlord comment that the Earth heroes are too busy being petty to bother helping them save the freaking universe. I think I seriously enjoyed this series more than Civil War. It had a point and it had heroes being heroes. Isn't that more important than registration?
I loved the new Nova series and can't wait to read more cosmic stuff. I never thought I would say that.

A bunch of outerspace dickweed doing thier outerspace things, c'mon, Annihilus is a third rate Fantastic Four villain at best, but at least we have the most poerful hero in the galaxy to save us form him. Hooray for... Nova? Really the Human Rocket, Annihilation was apocalypticaly boring at best.

I took a glance at Nova #2 last week, and he reminds me of how Kyle Rayner used to be. I might check out the trade. I dunno. I like the released character designs for the sequel, though.

It reminds you of Kyle since the Nova Corp is a second rate Green Lantern Corp and when he absorbed all of their power into himself he became ION.

That being said, I still thought the series was handled well. I may check it out in trade later as well.
