Amazing Spider-man thrice monthly has been a really good book.  Solid on every arc.  New villains including the new Anti-Venom coming in August.  I don't agree with how we got here, but the book now is the best it's been in years.  For all the Mephisto haters, let me remind you that you have survived the Clone Saga, have seen Gwen Stacy ret-con raped, and Morlun kill Spider-man after eating his eyeball.  I think a little deal with the devil is negligible compared with those offenses.

I just wish we could have a writer on for more than a story arc.

In blackest day, in brightest night,
Beware your fears made into light
Let those who try to stop what's right,
Burn like his power... Sinestro's might!

Clone Saga was the last time they tried to make "Spider-Man more relatable to the kids" and we all saw how well THAT turned out.

The Other was poorly handled, but Morlun trashing Spider-Man? That was good readin'

Sins Past would have been better had Joe Q not told JMS to change the father to Norman.

Brand New Day, in my opinion, has not been a solid good book. Peter is making stupid mistakes over and over and is generally unlikeable. The majority of "new" characters have been thinly veild re-hashes of older characters. A new goblin, soon to be followed up with a new Kraven and Anti-Venom. Screwball is Rocket Racer for the youtube generation.

And on top of all that, I really fail to see how these stories could not have been told with Peter being married. JMS's run made the marriage work and it was beautiful to read.

In summation: I disagree.

I concur with Buddy.

I actually canceled my subscription to ASM a couple months ago. Surprising, because I love Spider-man! It was hard for me to do.

They'll hear my call
Then this wicked town
Will follow my fall..."
