It has been an ongoing debate with most readers. Especially as of late with all the gnarly cross overs and tie ins all over the place but really...

Are you a single issue or graphic novel person???

Personally I'm a little of both. It is a lot cheaper and better to read all together in graphic novel. But on the other hand single issues are fun and come out more often...

I'm not gonna lie...I dig trades as much as the next guy but I'm also addicted to the good ol floppy format as well

what is the greater evil my dear friends?

I like trades. It's over-all less expensive and you get a bunch of singles, cramed into one good story.  It seems...easier!

I'm a complete graphic novel guy because most of the things i read come out straight in graphic novel form anyway. The only thing i've been picking up as a single issue is Pirates of Coney Island because i can't resist the Cloonan covers, and i always get Fell but that's been so late i always forget about it.

Don't let uncle Joe (Quesada) read this. He tore into someone that called the monthly comics floppies.

Read Hush as a monthly comics and as a trade. I think it suffers as a trade because there is no way to tell where there is tension in the story. Normally, you get this on the continued next month page, but it wasn't there in the trade.

That's true...I like the suspence from a single issue...but you still get it from a trade...it just doesn't drag on and on!

I like short quick stories with substance. Civil War was a flat out lie to the fans, A Marvel Comics Event in 7 parts, story was 88 issues long & only about 1/4 mattered, I'm tired of huge crossovers, go away

What about a trade that collects all of the covers in addition to the story

I'm a single issue kinda guy. The only reason I like trades is when they let me obtain a series that is nigh-impossible to obtain via back-issue hunting. (Like, Animal Man for instance).

A bit off-topic, but what really annoys me is how I'll buy a series in the single issues, but the trade will have some EXTRA STORY JUST FOR THE TRADE which to me is punishing the loyal reader that shelled out the cash to buy the series in single issue format. A lot of folks say trades lead to better sales at "regular" bookstores, but if someone is just buying the book off the rack because they see it at a bookstore, the "Extra" material isn't much of an incentive.

Said it before and I'll say it again. If I ever get an ongoing series published, the single issues will have extras that will not be printed in the trade.

I don't own a single one. They're nice I guess, but I'm not dropping down 100 bucks on em.

I guess one hudred dollars for a comic just isn't that much to a young, handsome, successful, charming playboy doctor from Port Charles' General Hospital.
