I arrived at General Hospital and quickly developed a reputation of being a playboy doctor. Young, handsome, successful & charming were just a few of my attributes that attracted the women of Port Charles including nurse, Bobbie Spencer. Frustrated by my inability to tell her that I loved her, Bobbie took desperate measures to keep me. She faked blindness in an effort to gain my affection. Unfortunately, the lie ultimately spelled the end of our relationship. On the rebound from my failed relationship with Bobbie, I took an interest in sexy Tiffany Hill. When Bobbie returned to work, Tiffany was the only one not happy to see her back at General Hospital. She had good reason to worry about Bobbie when her & I briefly reconciled. After our relationship ended for a final time, I tried to seduce Tiffany. Tiffany and I started to make love but at the last moment, Tiffany pulled away.
I left town when he was offered a new surgical position in Atlanta, but years later, Robin Scorpio found me drunk in a bar not far from Port Charles. She convinced me to return to Port Charles to check out Jason Morgan's case. I realized he just wasn't up to operating on Jason, but I had an alternative -- my son, Dr. Patrick Drake. Patrick & I had been estranged since the death of Patrick's mother on my own operating table, which had sent me in a downward spiral into the bottle, & left me with a failing liver. After the operation, both Patrick & I chose to stick around Port Charles & try to patch up our broken relationship, but my refusal to accept part of Patrick's liver to save my own life drove a wedge between us again. While I was unconscious, Patrick donated part of his liver to me. Despite me forbidding him to do so. Since then, however, we have worked out our differences & I entered a rehab facility to get help for my alcohol problem.
