Today I bought issues 1-4 of Simon Dark, I actually found out about this comic on accident. I was looking at the new releases and turned around to see it in a box with a ton of others and it just stood out to me. I also bought House of Mystery and I'm enjoying both series. Does anyone know any other series similar to these that I might enjoy? Thanks.

It depends on what you liked about the two.  If you like Steve Niles writing, 30 days of Nights and a lot of his horror comics might be good.  Personally, one of my favorite comics by Steve is Bad Planet.  If you like how he plays in Gotham, Steve has written Gotham County Line (currently in Trade) and Gotham after Midnight (currently in comic book form).

As far something similar to House of Mystery, there is Fables written by the writer of House of Mystery.  There is the Sandman or Hellblazer.  If you like the character driven nature of the story, pick up anything Vertigo or do yourself and pick up one of the Vertigo samplers for $4.99 (First Cut has five or six different first issues of Vertigo titles).

I totally agree with Spazdog. Fables, Hellblazer, Sandman. I've heard good things about Jack of Fables, but I have yet to read a copy. Northlanders is also really good!

Thanks guys. I started going on a steve niles hunt and I have the trade paperback of 30 Days of Night (wayyyy before the movie) and I loved it, although I had Ben Templesmith's art, he can't draw people at all, they look like cats- just my opinion though. I love the character development of Simon Dark, it makes you care for him and it changes direction after the first issue. The first issue had me thinking he was a merciless killer, the anti-batman and after issue one he progresses into an awesome guy and the whole story with the cult has me hooked.

I've thought about getting into Hellblazer but there is just so much of it out it would take me forever to catch up but I think I'll get a few of the trade paperbacks to get started on it.

After reading House of Mystery I saw in the back where they had the vertigo first cuts for like $5, if I find it locally I will no doubt be getting that. And I've thought about that Jack of Fables thing but I haven't looked it up to see what it's about and such.

Right now I have a few series I'm following and thanks to you guys a few other's I'll probably persue.

Young X-Men
Locke & Key
X-Force (looks amazing <3)
Titans Together!
Kick-Ass
House of Mystery
Simon Dark (duh)

And soon Hellblazer (probably when Simon Dark finishes up, I think it's close to the end.)

Wow, epic post.

Check out "Preacher." It is similar to "Hellblazer."

Hey, I saw Simon Dark in Atomic the other day, and it's kinda dark right? Have you tried Umbrella Academy? I totally love it and highly recommend it. Sweet list, I hear Locke & Key is really good!
