Comics are supposed to be a form of escapism.  Are topics like the Holocaust to heavy to be portrayed in comic books or is it the perfect medium to discuss these topics?

Comics *can* be a form of escapism but to limit an unlimited forum for human beings' imaginations to just "escapism" is weak and shallow at best. This attitude is what has kept the medium pressed into the corner of a child's hobby from the perspective of the overall public.

Any form of art whether a film, a book, a comic, a sculpture or whatever (the possibilities are only limited by our imaginations) that can express its views is to be valued, whether you agree or disagree with the topic or conculsions.

To pigeonhole comics as "escapism" is a problem, but you're entitled to limit your perspectives if you wish. I heard the new Archie is pretty cool - go check it out!

I concur.

Comic books are a medium. Not a genre.
