British director Guy Ritchie's planned Lobo film, based on the ultraviolent DC Comics' antihero, will be looking for a new director after Ritchie cleared his schedule of the film to direct a sequel to Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes was an unexpected hit for Warner Brothers. Starring Robert Downey, Jr. and Jude Law, the film opened on Christmas Day and has, to date, pulled in $389 million on a budget of $90 million. Downey recently took home a Golden Globe award for his work in the film, and the studio has fast-tracked a sequel, with filming to begin this summer for a 2011 release.

Joel Silver, the producer for both Sherlock Holmes and Lobo, is now looking for a new director for the latter film.
