WONDER WOMAN #6: Man, it seems like I was just reviewing this a couple a weeks ago. Maybe I am just not used to Wonder Woman coming out on time. This book is amazing and almost catching up tp the rest of the DCU continuity wise. I am glad Heinberg is off this book if it means it'll come out on a regular basis. Nemesis is an awesome under-used character, Christos Gage should write a Nemesis mini-series for all the fans (and by "fans," I mean me and my manager Rob). Okay, enough pimping Gage and back to how awesome it is to have Diana Prince back sans white jumpsuit (not like that get your mind out of the gutter). I like spy stuff and you should too. DEO stuff plus culture shock equals good Wonder Woman. A+

GREEN LANTERN #18: The return of the all new old Star Sapphire. If one of my regular villains only wanted to bone down with me and leave I think I would just go with the flow, but Hal Jordan sees things a bit differently. Daniel Acuna is one of my favorite artists and this will get him the mass market recognition he deserves… I hope. The back-up/lead-in to the upcoming Sinestro Corps story arc. Special was amazing and if you haven’t heard about this, you NEED to check it out (see the cover of April’s PREVIEWS magazine). Man oh man, is this gonna get more and more awesome. I can’t wait to see Arkillo, Sinestro’s answer to GLC beatstick, Kilowog. Imagine a Pro Football Linebacker crossed with a T-Rex and give a bucket of steroids. I NEED more Green Lantern stat! Geoff Johns, if you are reading this, those are orders from my doctor and he says if I don’t get GL weekly I will explode. AA++

52 WEEK #47: It’s 52 need I say more we all know that it’s amazing and I have nothing but awe and respect for the devoted writers and artists of this book. A+

ACTION COMICS #847: A fun story told through the eyes of Jonathan Kent. A nice filler issue in the Johns/Donner run. A

BATMAN #664: Morrison is back and so is Bane??? I guess we can call this dude “I can’t believe it’s not Bane” for now. This issue was fulla Bruce Wayne and that’s awesome. It makes Batman so much more interesting since you know he really just wants to run around in a cape and not a tux, but he can’t. Drugs, hookers, and Batman gets his back broken… again? What more could you ask for? A

BLUE BEETLE #13: “Whenever you can walk away from an alien encounter without being dead or probed you chalk it up as a win.” Well, Jaime and Peacemaker got probed one way or another in this issue and it was hilarious… becacuse it wasn’t me. They are in a world o' hurt and the rest of the world is oblivious to it. B+

CONNOR HAWKE DRAGONS BLOOD #5 (OF 6): Connor Hawke vs. Godzilla. Giant, 30 ton firebreathing monstrosity vs. guy with bow and arrow. I feel bad for the dragon. Fun, but ultimately uninspired for Chuck Dixon. It should have been a 2 or 3 part prestige format book instead of a monthly. C+

FABLES #59: Fables is never bad. This issue is a nice stand alone issue featuring a bunch of artists and all of your favorite characters in short vignettes. Cute, fun, but in the end way too short. B+

FIRESTORM THE NUCLEAR MAN #34: Mr. Miracle and Orion guest star and trash the Female Furies. See the next review for my major questions about this book. B

HAWKGIRL #62: Big Ol’ Robo-Hawkgirl? Okay, Pharoh Princess I get, Cowboy I get, Samurai I get... Power Ranger Robot Hawkgirl??? How do the Female Furies show up in two books this week (again) and look totally different in both issues, Earth-2 or continuity error, you decide. B

JSA CLASSIFIED #24: Dr. Mid-Nite vs. a vampire? Mid-Nite is confronted by a monstrosity that should not exist… at least in his mind. Yet another fun romp that I have come to expect from this title. While it’s not the best, it’s far from the worst thing I read lately. B-

SPAWN #166: This is like the second issue of Spawn I have really read. I have never been a big fan of Spawn, but I am a big fan of David Hine and decided to give it a shot. It seems like a really good jumping on point since two issues ago the world was destroyed rebuilt it without God and Satan. A good read reminiscent of Hine’s Earlier District X work. I think I am gonna have to read more of this. B+

BLACK PANTHER #26: Black Panther joins the FF and turns the Baxter building into the new Wakandan Embassy. For a king, he spends waaay too much time away from his kingdom. I think there needs to be some political change in Wakanda. B

DAREDEVIL #95: Daredevil back in Hell’s Kitchen doing what he does. My manager Rob recently went to Hell’s Kitchen and brought up the point that Hell’s Kitchen is only four blocks by four. That’s not a very big area to patrol and yet Matt Murdock can’t handle it? Maybe he should hang up the tights? B+

FANTASTIC FOUR #544: See above Black Panther review. It’s pretty much the same thing. B

HEROES FOR HIRE #8: Shang Chi Unleashed! Man, I have been waiting eight issues for Shang Chi to open his industrial sized can of whoop@$$ and was not disappointed. Finally, something awesome from an otherwise lackluster title. A+

IRON MAN #16: Iron Man: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. (Super Hero Incarceration and Elimination Lead by a Dickweed) continues. I have trouble caring about Tony anymore. The book may be good but I hate him so much right now. Maybe I can give an unbiased report on this when my mind is less clouded by Civil War-induced rage. Until them I don’t like Iron Man, he’s an extremist jerk who deserves to get clobbered by the Hulk.

SENSATIONAL SPIDER-MAN #36: Another Clone Saga??? A decent enough story, but really lacks the punch of Amazing or Ultimate Spidey so it seems lacking even though it is good. C+

SILENT WAR #3 (OF 6): Quicksilver is still a colossal a-hole. Black Bolt is still declaring war on America. I fear the day Medusa sneezes and Blackagar Boltagon forgets his place, says “Bless you,” and nukes Jersey in the process. C

ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #107: Man, this is everything I want both in a Spider-Man book and from Marvel in general. Solid continuity with the other Ultimate books, multiple compelling storylines, and the fact that it ships on a regular basis make this book one of my favorite Marvel titles currently in production. (In case you are wondering, John Byrne’s Namor series from the 90’s is my favorite Marvel book not in production.) Bendis has done nothing but amaze with this series (with the exception of the "Deadpool" story arc) and continues to remind me why so many people have loved Peter Parker for so long. A+

ULTIMATE X-MEN #80: Wolverine leaves and Scott makes a logical decision for the future of the school. Fans may be divided by his behavior but I think his basic idea pretty cool. Bishop is awesome in this issue and not just a stranded timecop. The big end reveal is a little obvious for an X-book and I feel a bit cheated by it. Oh well. Still fun. B+

GARGOYLES #3: Man, if this book came out a little more regularly it would be one of my favorites. This book is by far the best thing that Slave Labor Productions puts out. Powered by the fact that the original creator is the mastermind behind the comic, this book has continues where the animated series left off and continually blows me away. A+

GAME KEEPER #1: Not a bag beginning since I thought that everything Guy Richie touches turns to crap since he married Madonna. I am very interested where issue two is gonna go and while I am not losing any sleep over it I will grab it off the stands the moment it comes out. B
