On one side, you have a race of ancient Greeks born and bred to be the world's greatest warriors; on the other, masters of the Far East's deadliest martial arts. Who wins in a battle between Spartans and ninjas?

This weekend it was the pizza-munching, ooze-born heroes on a half shell. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles took the top spot at the box offices, knocking 300 into second place after a two-week reign at the top of the charts. Moviegoers shelled out (ha ha... puns!) $31 million to see the computer-generated turtles. On the other hand, the live action Spartans in a computer-generated world added more than $18 million, staying well ahead of Mark Wahlberg's Shooter and bringing the film's three-week total to nearly $150 million.

Regardless of who comes out on top of the Spartan/ninja debate, Warner Bros. executives couldn't lose regardless of the outcome. The studio produced both films.
