300 Gives First Glimpse of Watchmen

 The success of 300 is making director Zach Snyder's Watchmen adaptation seem more and more likely. In fact, 300 offered a glimpse of what Snyder's next film might look like in an Easter egg in an R-rated trailer.
At the 1:52 mark of the trailer is the image of a man in a trench coat and fedora wearing a black and white mask, backlit by a full moon. Reportedly, this is a test image for how Watchmen hero Rorschach would appear in a film version of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons comic.
The film hasn't been cast yet--in fact, it hasn't hasn't gotten a greenlight from the studio--but Snyder is already planning to start shooting this summer and release the film late in 2008. |
