Atomic Comics - The Joker may be the hottest, most tragic villain in all of villaindom. Now that you’ve signed on to provide the Kevin Smith take on the crazy guy, and after a few years off the comic writing crusade, are you worried about fan reaction?
Kevin Smith - Always. Even if I didn’t have a bad lateness track record to live down, I’d always sweat fan reaction.

Atomic Comics - So the new Armageddon Graphic Novel coming out this week is a major new work from you. What made you decide to go with this subject matter in particular? This seems to be a departure from the Liefeld stuff we all know and love.
Rob Liefeld - I chose to do this graphic novel series as a result of the original story and material. I love, LOVE, apocalyptic stories. The Omen series, The Seventh Sign, stuff like that has always peaked my interest. When I heard Phil Hotsenpiller's story, I was compelled to adapt it. Armageddon Now WW3 is just the first chapter of a bigger story. It also provided a story that was more Tom Clancy, spy driven, no super heroes. It was a good challenge.

Atomic Comics - Dark Reign: New Nation is coming out and you get to write one of the most interesting and mysterious pieces in the book: the story of Mockingbird and Hawkeye. Any pressure there?
Jim McCann - None at all. Is that what you wanted to hear? Can I have my security blanket back now?
