 Galactus, Devourer of Worlds, Ravager of Planets, is headed for Earth and should arrive this summer.
Tim Story, director of Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer, has confirmed on his MySpace Blog that the planet eater will appear in the film.
A few weeks ago, actor Ioan Gruffudd, who plays Reed Richards, indicated Galactus's presence would be felt in the film, but that he wouldn't physically appear. Story countermanded that statement, explaining that the classic villain would show up, but even he wasn't sure what he'd look like yet.
"We haven't finished the design of him/it so be careful about what you read and believe. Trust me... no one knows," Story wrote.
The design has been a sticky point because in comics Galactus appears as a giant humanoid pink and purple outfit and a helmet with giant prongs sticking out the sides, a look that doesn't necessarily translate to film. |
