 Any progress on the Hack/Slash movie?
Yeah! I mean, it's always going to be a slower process than we comic fans are used to..but, Justin Marks is diligently working away, and I think we'll have a bad-ass script really soon.
Will we be seeing any action figures, posters, or statues of Cassie or Vlad coming soon?
We're working on a statue, but that's got to be PERFECT before we go through with it. If we do figures, it's gotta be either like a NECA style highly detailed figure or a crazy vinyl figure toy. Also, the Cassie figure has to fit in my pants.
It's pretty cool seeing Cassie and Vlad take on more recognizable horror icons! Any plans on others such as the puppets from Puppetmaster, Pumpkin Head, or Molotov Malve?
Well, true fans know Molotov Malve was destroyed in that Jagermeister and burritos accident in MOLOTOV 3: A SHOT IN THE NADS.
Are there plans to continue Loaded Bible in the future or did you envision it as a 3-Chapter story from the beginning?
There'll certainly be more. I have an artist and a story ready to go..just no script as I'm up to my ass in other projects. Won'tsomeone give me some time to spend with Jesus?
You're a pretty big advocate for supporting Rated R Horror movies. Were you surprised at how well The Strangers did in the box office?
FUCKING SHOCKED is more accurate. But, very pleased that it's from my friends at Rogue.Yeah, I think all genre and type of movie has a time and place, and STRANGERS was a good movie at the right time. I'm so glad there's more screaming bloody horror and boobies in the cinema.
How far ahead have you written and planned out the Hack/Slash series?
Roughly up to issue 50! I have it tightly plotted until 25.
Your Hack/Slash fans may not be aware you're also the Forgotten Realms artist. How much time do you spend on Forgotten Realms compared to Hack/Slash?
Well I'm done with FR now..but, yeah, artists live in their worlds a lot longer than writers. Heh, when I'm drawing, it's 8 hours a day, a full time gig. I'm in H/S in my head all the time, but I'm only writing maybe 8 hours a month.
How do you come up with the concepts for your Slashers? Which has been your favorite so far?
I try to do what I think the creators of these movies have done..come up with weird scary shit that freaks them out. So, I'd have to say, the killer in issue 14 is a personal fave...you'll see why soon. And, I have a soft spot for the lesbian skin snake from Tub Club. Heh..lesbian skin snake.
When it comes to comic book movies do you think companies are flooding the market and will eventually cause people to grow tired and bored of comic movies or is this one of those precious gems that will last as long as they are continually made as well as movies like Iron Man and (hopefully) The Dark Knight?
Well, I think there's a difference between comic book movies and superhero movies. Since a comic book movie can be anything from GHOST WORLD to HELLBOY. I can't see people getting sick of them specifically. Superhero movies on the other hand,well, as long as they're good, they have as much of a place as any other genre..but all we need is another CATWOMAN or STEEL and this shit's all goin' down the tubes!
So, are you pretty excited to make it to a Fright Night event finally? We've wanted you out for the last few now!
Yeah, Malve's been danglin' the Fright Night Carrot in front of my nose for years, and I'm glad to get to bite. Bite. Fright Night. Getting' an 80s horror flashback here..."You have to have faith for that to work on me, Mr. Vincent!"
