A Midsummer Night's Anime Fest at Atomic Comics Mesa started off with a bang, well more like the smell of ramen in the air. Ramen Warrior returned to the joy of six lucky contestants who were able to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner all during the same meal. Two brave contestants walked away with free DVD's for eating their competition under the table. What made this anime fest even more special then the others was the debut of THREE new game shows!
 While anime played on the TV, a steady stream of anime fans walked into the store to take part in one of the more popular anime fests of the year. Contestants next sharpened up their pencils and lined up to do battle in Iron Manga. The topic this time was draw your favorite anime character as a robot.
In between Naruto and Soul Eater, fans were able to battle their wits in the Anime Game Show. Contestants battled their way through trivia questions not only for prizes but to be king of trivia!
 Before the dust settled, the debut of Anime Let's Make a Deal stunned and surprised all who watched. Contests in cosplay costumes had the opportunity to turn awesome prizes for the possibility of something better or maybe something like deodorant. No matter what the prize everyone was having a great time at watching the spoils of victory or the mystery surprise of doom. Let's Make a Deal will definitely go down as a classic.
Not giving people a chance to recover, Anime Pictionary had fans guessing and laughing as they tested their art skills to quickly draw topics for their team. Anime Pictionary another game show that's destined to be a classic.
 Next up was the premier of the Gong Show. The contests wowed the judges with acts of heroism. Well ok more like singing and cosplay skits. As the gong rang through the store, the field of contestants narrowed down until a cosplay group finally emerged victorious with a skit.
 After a short breather the premier of the third game show Who Wants to be a Fan Girl wooed and wowed the audience. Girls and one guy? Battled it out to the end with one brave soul who sacrificed his body for the glomping contest. Another game show destined for greatness.
 Finally the event everyone was waiting for, the cosplay contest started. Over 45 contestants entered for the chance at having the best costume of the night. First place winner went to Lucy who dressed as Card Captor Sakura. While there could only be one first place winner, all of the contestants really ended up winners for entering the contest and having fun.
