Reports that Keanu Reeves would be starring in Zack Snyder's adaptation of Watchmen were a bit premature. The Johnny Mnemonic star says he was offered the role of Dr. Manhattan, but turned it down. Reeves's next film is titled Night Watch, which is close enough to Watchmen to cause confusion on the intrawebs.
John Cusack, on the other hand, is lobbying to be part of the movie. Many fans have listed Cusack as their ideal Nite Owl and, years ago, Cusack was rumored to be up for the role in the never-happened Revolution Studios version of the film. Snyder has all but confirmed, though, that Little Children's Patrick Wilson will be playing Nite Owl.
Cusack could usurp Wilson if there is enough fan outcry, but Cusack has also indicated he's interested in playing Rorschach. |
