Last week a comic came out that seemed to be sorely overlooked. There weren’t many copies on our shelves, so if you stopped in one of our stores late in the day odds are you may not have even known it existed! How unfortunate for you, gentle consumer!
Allow me to tell you about this particular issue and I’m certain this new series will undoubtedly hook you as it has me! The book in question is none other than Hack/Slash #1! You’ve seen several mini-series and a couple 1-Shot issues pass you by, but this, ladies and gentlemen is an on-going series, something to add to your pull list and more importantly to let your kids read! Yeah! I guess I can tell you about it if you’re not sold just yet… jerk…
I’m sure all of us have seen Nightmare on Elm Street where Nancy Thompson survives or Halloween where Laurie Strode defeats Michael Myers and Sidney Prescott outsmarts her boyfriend to come out alive in Scream! For whatever reason, a pretty young female is always the survivor if not the sole survivor of these slasher flicks! The same can be said for Cassie Hack…
Cassie is the survivor of a murderous old woman named “The Lunch Lady”. Since her survival Cassie has teamed up with a goliath of a partner named Vlad and together the two of them hunt down active Slasher Killers and put them in the ground once and for all.
Recently, Cassie Hack took on the horror icon Chuckie (Charles Lee Ray) as well as a slew of original killers and undead evil!
”But I missed those other stories you’re talking about! *cry, cry cry*”, you say?
Let me tell you, mein freund, you shall not fret over such trivial matters! Hack/Slash #1 covers Cassie’s origin in decent detail as well as adds more to her origin! It tells about the time Cassie met Vlad! It also throws a twist in there for the fans…
Check out Hack/Slash #1 and if you like it be on the look out for the two Graphic Novels in the shops! Also don’t forget to snag up the Chuckie Vs. Hack/Slash issues which leads into the Chuckie mini-series written by Arizona local, Brian Pulido!
