Stan Lee was awarded the National Medal of Arts by President and Mrs. Bush in the East Room at the White House on Monday. The Medal awards are managed by the National Endowment for the Arts; recipients are selected “based on their contributions to the creation, growth, and support of the arts in the United States.”

Wonder Woman Animated |

Warner Home Video has announced that the Warner Premiere Wonder Woman animated feature (see “Wonder Woman Direct to DVD”) will be released on DVD in three versions, as well as via OnDemand and Pay-Per-View, on March 3rd. The release is the fourth in a series of animated feature based on DC characters for older audiences.

Robotech Live Action Film gets Writers |

Two new writers have been assigned to work on the Robotech live action movie script, according to Hollywood Reporter. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, longtime Smallville showrunners who also worked on the script for Spider-Man 2, will work on a new draft following the one written by Lawrence Kasdan.

The momentum behind president-elect Barack Obama’s comic connection appears to be building, with a Quesada appearance on the The Colbert Report and the first report of a positive sales impact. Obama first revealed his comic tastes in Entertainment Weekly in August, when he said that Spider-Man was his favorite comic character because he’d been “knocked around a little bit.” And last week, in a list of "The 50 facts you might not know" about Obama, the Telegraph reported that he collects Spider-Man and Conan the Barbarian comics.
