Atomic Comics - Many people may be unaware, but you are credited with running the Wizard Comic Con shows for years! After a few years off, what made you decide to get back into the Con running gig?
Martha Donato - I thrive on stress and conflict, and I needed to get back to it. No, seriously, I really missed the people and the energy that running a comic book show exposes me to. I couldn’t ask for a nicer group, and I love this gig.

Geoff Boucher of the L.A. Times interviewed Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard and found that the helmer was “most excited about directing a big budget adaptation of (Image Comics’) The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft.” Howard has directed two films that were released in the past 12 months, Frost/Nixon and Angels and Demons, but he has not announced what his next project will be.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon announced his intention to write a Buffy Season Nine comic book series after the current Buffy Season Eight series ends its projected run with 40 issues, according to an interview with Tim Leong on Complex.com.

Work has begun on a sequel to Columbia’s 2007 Ghost Rider film, according to Variety. David Goyer, who wrote a script years ago, is in negotiations to direct, with Nicolas Cage again expected to star.

In a sign of growing acceptance of comics as a way to deliver narrative support for consumer products, Adidas has produced three comics, by artists Jae Lee, JG Jones, and Ryan Benjamin, telling the stories of some of its top soccer stars (Emmanuel Adebayor, Steven Garrard, and Ricardo Kaka, respectively). The comics are being released online and in physical form in Adidas markets around the world.
