Movie rights to Viper’s Villains comic series have been acquired by Universal, and Matt Jennison and Brent Strickland, who did a script for Wonder Woman, have been signed to do the script, according to Hollywood Reporter.

In a fascinating and wide-ranging interview with Geoff Boucher in the Los Angeles Times, Christopher Nolan, director of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, provided what he called a “suitably slippery answer” when questioned about helming a third Batman film. Nolan cited two concerns, the most important of which was finding “a story that’s going to keep me emotionally invested for the couple of years that it will take to make another one.”

The Hollywood trades are reporting that Robert Downey, Jr. has signed a four-picture deal with Marvel Studios. Downey, Jr. will return as Tony Stark/Iron Man in Iron Man 2, which is slated for release on May 7th, 2010, Iron Man 3 (release date to be determined), and The Avengers, which is due out on July 15th, 2011 ...

Atomic Comics handed out more than 4,000 comics donated by DC comics as well as Marvel comics and Mcfarlane toys at a recent AZ baseball game. We worked in conjunction with The Veteran Tickets Foundation to raise awareness for veterans.

Eureka #1 Cover AWith Andrew Cosby, the co-creator of Sci Fi Channel’s Eureka series, as one of the co-founders of Boom! Studios (see “Mark Waid Named EIC”), you had to think eventually it would happen, and now it has: Boom! Studios will launch a Eureka comic series in December. The comic will be co-written by Cosby and Brendan Hay (Daily Show, The Simpsons, Frank TV), with art by Diego Barreto and cover art by J.K. Woodward.
